A Community to Redefine East Mumbai
Bordering major transportation corridors and Asia’s largest national park, Rivali Park provides a mixed-use destination in east Mumbai. The 22-acre development includes residential, commercial, retail, hospitality and cultural buildings within a gated community.
We provided structural design services, working with Gensler. The project was completed in 2012.
Highlights
- The first phase of the project includes multiple residential buildings totaling 90,000 square meters. The towers range from ten to 47 stories with three basement levels integrated within the landscape to optimize energy efficiency and occupant comfort.
- The structural system for the project, reinforced concrete frame, comprises shear walls to resist lateral loads and flat plates with columns to support gravity loads at residential floors.
- Benefits of the structural design: speedy and efficient construction with the use of local material and M-50 grade concrete; aesthetically appealing beamless flat ceilings that yielded increased clear floor-to-floor height; and a cost-effective shuttering system.
- The project has received the Indian Green Building Council Green Homes Platinum certification.
