James P. Quinn

Jim Quinn has extensive experience in the management and technical direction of transportation, traffic, highway and utility projects. He is a leader in the Transportation practice, where his responsibilities include training bridge engineers in civil disciplines, initiating collaboration with architects and landscape architects and expanding the firm’s role on many projects. In 1998, Jim established our civil engineering practice, offering services in roadway and streetscape design, site civil engineering, and green infrastructure and sustainable solutions. A native New Yorker, Jim has been the lead civil engineer for many award-winning projects in the metropolitan area, including the Brooklyn Botanic Garden Visitor Center and the redevelopment of the Stapleton Waterfront in Staten Island. He has long been a proponent of sustainable design and leads the practice’s efforts to provide environmentally friendly solutions for all planning and design projects. Jim is skilled in the application of new technologies, materials and practices and achieving project objectives while minimizing the impact on the environment.
