University of Missouri, Memorial Stadium, South End Zone Expansion
Stadium enhancements not only showcase the Tigers’ football team and provide new office, meeting, and training spaces but also generate additional revenue with 5,000 added seats with club and suite spaces.
Overview
Good riddance bleachers. In 2019 The University of Missouri, Memorial Stadium unveiled a new south endzone replacing the original seating bowl with a state-of-the-art facility including premium outdoor seating, clubs, field-level suites and a new main concourse connecting the East and West sidelines. The stadium enhancements not only showcase the Tigers’ football team but also generate additional revenue with 5,000 premium level seats.
We provided structural design of the steel-framed structure to Populous, completing the facility in time for the start of the 2019 season. The building is also the new home for football operations with coaches' offices, team meeting spaces, enhanced locker rooms and an extensive training and sports medicine area with several hydrotherapy pools and a large column-free weight room.
Highlights
- The floor framing comprises composite steel beams and girders.
- The lateral-force-resisting system consists of steel braced frames.
