Overview
Salt Lake City's tallest skyscraper is on the rise: A luxury residential building featuring amenities such as a fitness studio, roof deck terrace, sauna and club lounge. The 40-story tower will provide a variety of studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, including two levels dedicated to penthouse living.
We are providing structural engineering and performance-based design services to HKS for the residential high-rise.
Highlights
- The structural system consists of flat plate post-tensioned concrete slabs and cast-in-place concrete columns. The lateral system consists of concrete shear walls at the building core and egress stairways.
- Because the structure’s height will exceed the maximum allowable for a single lateral force resisting system, performance-based design methodology is being employed to ensure seismic performance is equivalent to prescriptive building codes.
