The wait is over! Today is the official start of the Major League Baseball season. Baseball fans are known for their passion for the game and strong opinions on everything from player rankings to the designated hitter rule.

So where’s the best place to catch a game? It’s Chicago’s Wrigley Field, according to Sports Illustrated’s 2025 MLB ballpark rankings. The second-oldest venue in the league, the home of the Chicago Cubs has plenty of historic charm along with some modern upgrades, thanks to a multiyear renovation program completed in 2019. Thornton Tomasetti provided structural design and construction engineering services to ICON, Populous and Stantec for the project.

Rounding out SI’s top five best stadiums for overall game experience are San Francisco’s Oracle Park, PNC Park in Pittsburgh, Fenway Park in Boston and Petco Park in San Diego—all of which are among the 15 MLB stadiums we’ve helped to build, renovate or repair. We’re also busy on number 16: the new Athletics stadium in Las Vegas. Batter up!
