Catastrophe Response & Recovery
No matter the structural failure or natural disaster, we work at lightning speed to put you on the road to recovery.
How We Help
In the aftermath of a catastrophe, we evaluate damage and plan for recovery. Applying an enormous breadth of expertise in design and investigation for structures, mechanical systems and more, our technical professionals deliver the information you need to resolve post-loss claims and the design know-how to help change how we build a more resilient future.
Our first step in the process of repair and recovery is to identify what can be repaired and what's a total loss.
Everything we learn from each catastrophe informs our design and resilience practices. When we investigate a home, tall building or piece of equipment, our understanding of the limits of those structures and systems helps us identify vulnerabilities in them. What's more, we're active on committees that formulate the codes that address these vulnerabilities within the engineering and architecture practices.
When something goes wrong, you need to know why. And how to get back to full function and use. Our truly multidisciplinary team has the expertise to investigate and analyze anything – buildings, infrastructure, industrial machinery and process, equipment, tools, products and more. Disciplines include:
- Structural
- Architectural
- MEP
- Façades
- Acoustics
- Site-Civil
- Sustainability
- Geotechnical
- Shock & Vibration
- Fire & Process
- Electrical
- Mechanical
- Chemical
- Resilience
Humanitarian Aid
As our forensics experts aid the recovery and rebuilding efforts in affected areas of disasters and catastrophes around the world, we encourage the rest of our staff to help as well. As part of our Thornton Tomasetti Gives Back initiative, we match staff financial contributions to the American Red Cross, Direct Relief and other legitimate relief organizations.
