The anchor of KU’s Gateway District development, the renovated and modernized David Booth Memorial Stadium will enhance the fan experience and include new premium seating and additional concession areas. Originally built in 1920, the stadium is one of the nation’s oldest collegiate football stadiums. The initial phase of the project, which focuses on the southwest, west and north sides of the stadium, is expected to be completed by the Jayhawks’ 2025 football season. Seating capacity will be determined by future work; however, it is anticipated to accommodate more than 40,000 fans.

Our construction engineering team is providing connection design and Tekla modeling services to Turner Construction Company and erection engineering services to Doherty Steel, Inc. The stadium’s new structural design will comprise structural steel beams, girders, and columns with a braced-frame lateral system.
