Market Station
Market Station infuses Downtown Denver with residential, retail and office space on the site of a former bus station.
overview
The site of a former bus station at 16th and Market Street in Downtown Denver is now home to an urban redevelopment project, Market Station. The project infuses the 16th Street Mall with retail, residential and office space across four buildings ranging in height from five to ten stories.
We provided structural design services to BOKA Powell for these mixed-use structures, offering 95,000 square feet of office space, 85,000 square feet of retail space and 225 rental units, as well as underground parking with 350 spaces.
highlights
- Two buildings have concrete structures while the other two have feature concrete podiums with wood-framed structures.
- The bus station’s basement walls were repurposed into a garage, and car “stackers” effectively double the parking capacity while keeping the garage above the water table.
