Overview
Employees at the Houston Zoo will now have a more seamless experience entering the zoo through a five-story parking garage, which has room for more than 360 cars. The garage is part of the zoo's new 146,000-square-foot headquarters, which also features a 35,000-square-foot office building with conference rooms, break areas, office suites and a multimedia production studio.
We provided structural engineering support to Brave Architecture for the headquarters, which consists of the office space atop the parking garage.

- The building prioritizes sustainability and features an above-ground storage tank and an employee garden equipped with a cistern tank for rainwater irrigation.
- The building lowers carbon emissions by utilizing an energy-efficient HVAC system, comprehensive LED lighting, a low-carbon concrete structure and providing alternative transportation options for employees.
