overview

Located in the historical Haight community near Golden Gate Park, this mixed-use complex will provide much-needed affordable housing to low-income and housing insecure families. The building features 160 units, from studios to three bedrooms. Twelve of the units have been set aside for formerly homeless families, 20 are reserved for transitional-aged youth and 32 units have been marked for a voucher program through the San Francisco Housing Authority. The building will include community spaces, onsite laundry, courtyards, a rooftop urban agriculture workshop and community-serving programs including a daycare center, a senior center and a tech training center.

Working in collaboration with OMA and Y.A. Studio, we are providing LEED consulting and energy analysis for the eight-story residential structure, which addresses the city of San Francisco’s housing crisis while also aligning with their sustainability goals.

highlights

  • Our sustainability consultants have closely coordinated with the project team to promote the use of Greenguard-certified products and Living Building Challenge–adherent products.
  • The residential spaces will prioritize Energy Star–rated appliances and products with reduced or minimal carbon footprints.
  • To achieve sustainability goals, we advised excluding materials such as PVC, vinyl and carpet from the interior design.
