Conducted slant shear tests to evaluate the bond strength between existing concrete substrate and the repair material. Varied the material properties, type of finishing, curing methods and environmental conditions to observe its effect on the bond strength.

Shear Behavior of Reinforced Concrete Beams
-
The response of RC beams in shear with varying levels of shear reinforcement were studied, by innovatively reverse designing them to obtain the required shear failure modes. The performance of an aluminum beam with reduced shear capacity was also tested. Designed the test specimens, drafted AUTOCAD drawings for fabrication, and organized the test setup along with the data acquisition modules. Wrote programs in LABVIEW for acquiring specimen test data.

Moment Curvature Response of Reinforced Concrete Sections

Developed a MATLAB program with a graphical user interface to calculate the moment curvature response of commonly used concrete sections, which included the effect of tension stiffening.

Planning, Analysis and Design of a Multipurpose Auditorium

Developed and drafted original plans using AUTOCAD 2006, for a multi-purpose auditorium with a seating capacity of 1500 people. Conducted the analysis and design with STAADPro. Project cost, acoustical requirements and air-conditioning capacity required were estimated.
