Eleven Times Square
New York, N.Y.

We provided structural design for the 40-story, LEED Gold-certified tower, which was selected as a Council on Tall Buildings and Urban Habitat (CTBUH) 2011 Best Tall Building awards finalist for the Americas region, one of only two projects in the category. The 600-ft, 1.1-million-sf tower contains retail shops on the lower levels and office space above. It was the first concrete core-first office tower in New York, utilizing a Peri Jump-Form system to construct the concrete core ahead of the steel floor framing, which allowed for a well-organized structural design and faster construction. The sloping glass façade features spectrally selective Low-E glass, exterior sunshades, sculptural setbacks and a floor plan which allows for extensive interior daylighting. A 55-ft penthouse enclosure caps off the tower. The architect was FXFowle Architects, P.C.
