KIYOU HOOSHIAR, P.E., LEED AP
Kiyou Hooshiar has more than 40 years of experience in complex electrical investigation and design as well as sustainability and alternative energy (photovoltaic, wind power) designs. His diverse background includes forensics, electrical design of high- and medium-voltage power distributions, lighting, emergency power, uninterruptible power systems, fire alarm systems, voice, data and electronic security, and project management. He has worked on various building types including correctional facilities, government institutions, banks, high-tech offices for financial institutions, and aviation facilities. Kiyou is also experienced in sustainability and alternative energy. He is responsible for leading the interdisciplinary teams on larger MEP investigations.
Kiyou was the lead/electrical engineer of record while working on the U.S. Department of Transportation Headquarters in Washington, D.C. His project credits include facilities for the U.S. Food and Drug Administration and U.S. Embassy compound Worldwide Security upgrades and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
Kiyou is a licensed professional engineer in 31 states and the District of Columbia and holds an Engineering Examiners certificate, an Association of Energy Engineers certificate, and a UCLA Project Management certificate. He has a post graduate study degree in engineering management from the George Washington University, Washington, D.C., a master’s degree in electrical engineering and a bachelor’s degree in electrical/mechanical engineering, both from the University of Tehran.
